The Right Tool for the Job – Wherever It Is
Mobile service technicians encounter many repair calls caused by failed bearings. These can be in HVAC units, elevators, conveyors, supply fans and pumps. Almost anything with an electric motor will eventually need bearings replaced. Your customers want repairs made quickly, and the work site can be on a hot roof, in an elevator shaft or in a confined space. ConeMount bearing heaters work anywhere there’s an electrical supply. ConeMount bearing heaters are lightweight (less that 7 pounds) and portable, so you can perform preventive maintenance and repairs anywhere. Everything you need to properly install press-fit bearings is in the transport bag, so you can keep your customers’ equipment running with minimal downtime.
A hot bearing means a cooler customer
ConeMount bearing heaters can accommodate inner-race diameters from 3/8 to 18 inches, which means you can service just about anything that employs bearings. It takes between 1 and 12 minutes – depending on bearing size – to reach optimal temperature, a fraction of the time using other methods. By heating the bearing, the diameter increases enough to easily slip the bearing onto the shaft without hammering or using a press. When the bearing cools, it is flush, square and tightly attached to the shaft. Improper installation is the leading cause of bearing failure. Methods such as blow-torching can distort the bearing and oil baths cannot be used on sealed bearings. Installing bearings with ConeMount will speed the repair, reduce chatter and vibration, shorten downtime and increase the life of your customer’s equipment.
